BY NATURE - FOR NATURE..
Hotel Grischa takes responsibility, considers the natural cycles and engages itself in sustaining nature. The existing resources were taken into consideration while remodeling Hotel Grischa. For example the roofs of unused mountain huts were used to decorate the lobby walls in the hotel.
A GLEAM OF HOPE FOR THE ENVIRONMENT.
Light is a crucial element of well-being. Besides having chosen stylish and characterful lighting – with individually created lights – the ecological aspect plays a huge role. The use of LED in the corridors saves up to 90% of lighting costs compared to conventional lighting. With a central control system for the lights, Hotel Grischa combines an excellent concept with the ergonomic quality of light and responsible use of resources. This does not only reduce cost, it also is great for the environment.
HEATING IN ACCORD WITH NATURE.
A climate friendly way of generating heat adds to cozy days at Hotel Grischa, even during huge cold spells. The heat in Hotel Grischa is generated by different sources. The thermic solar energy installation on the roof (266 m2) delivers approximately 180’000 kilowatt-hours of heat per year. Combined with the use of a heat pump, 40’000 liters of oil are saved annually. A technically mature heat recovery system uses the heat produced by the cooling systems (heat is also produced when refrigeration is generated). This saves an additional 20’000 liters of oil annually. These environmentally friendly heat recovery systems produce a total of 50–60% of the total requirements for heat. The remaining heat requirements are delivered by a biological oil heating system.
THE ROOMS - JUST AS INDIVIDUAL AS YOU.
With the use of a Key Card System, all unnecessary electrical use and lighting is put on stand-by status as soon as you leave the room. In addition, all rooms and suites are centrally regulated, allowing the individual adjustment of the room temperature. This way, the heat for a non-occupied room can be reduced to a minimum. This saves heat and therefore energy.
SapoCycle is a non profit organisation. It aims to collect discarded soaps in hotels, to recycle them and to redistribute the recycled soaps to improve sanitary conditions of children and families in need. The recycling of the soaps is handled by social integration programmes. We recycle the soap bars in all rooms for this humanitarian programme and help to prevent children deaths caused by hygiene-related illnesses.
